  14. Gorko says:

A funny, entertaining clip. Thanks Justin. Didn’t know Summer was asian, though. Does the interviewer know something we don’t?

  15. One_Angry_V says:

Ha, thanks Justin! Thomas is really funny! And Gorko, I was also a bit surprised having found out such fact about Summer…What was that lady thinking, saying that Summer’s asian??!! Or perhaps I misheard something…

  16. Hettie says:

Nice interview with Thomas, and an intriguing clip of the new episode.
As for the reference to Summer being Asian, I thought mentioning her ethnicity in that context (“Why don’t you find her attractive, is it because she’s Asian?”) seemed odd. I realise that because the interviewer herself is Asian, it was an attempt at humour, but it didn’t quite come off.
As for whether or not Summer actually is Asian, I have to admit I always just presumed that she had some Asian heritage, so am a little suprised at the “didn’t know she was Asian/what was that lady thinking?” type comments. I am of course happy to accept that, like the interviewer, I may be wrong. Of course, at the end of the day, I’m not quite sure why it would actually matter…

  17. Mal says:

I know that she is a littlebit german and irish. But asian?

  18. Gorko says:

Thank you for the comment Hettie. To answer your query, IMHO it matters only because it concerns Summer. I find any and all factiods about her to be quite fascinating. That is all I meant. It would distress me if you thought I tried to imply something mean or ugly-spirited. That was in no way my intention.

  19. Johnny says:

It’s interesting how Olivia Munn basically assumed that Summer was Asian. How can a person be mistaken as having an Asian look so many times, yet not be Asian? Does Summer truly have Asian in her and she just isn’t saying so? Hollywood certainly has never really been very embracing of Asian or Asian-American/Asian-descended actors, so maybe Summer has her reasons.

Anyway, seemed like Olivia was feeling some Thomas Dekker. Olivia is quite hot herself. I obviously like girls with looks like her’s and Summer’s!

  20. One_Angry_V says:

Hettie, I personally find Asian women very attractive., I never meant anything mean. If she knew this for a fact, than I apologize for my ‘what was she thinking’ comment, but if she just assumed this by herself, then I’m a little confused as for the reasons…

  21. Hettie says:

Sometimes emphasis and intention can be lost in writing, as I think happened in my original post, so I apologise if it sounded as if I was suggesting there was anything sinister in your comments, Gorko and OneAngryV – that most certainly wasn’t my intention.
In fact, I was merely stating my surprise that both of you had never considered that Summer was Asian, when to my eyes (and, evidently, the interviewer’s) it seemed very obvious that she was. (My “it shouldn’t matter anyway” was intended as a general throw-away line which, now that I re-read, sounded accusing). My point (poorly put across) was that to me, Summer very much looks as if she has Asian heritage and I always just assumed – it seems completely wrongly – that she had. But what had seemed evident to me (and the interviewer) is obviously not to everyone else, hence OneAngryV’s confusion at the reasons for the interviewer’s assumption. It appears it all really is in the eye of the beholder: some people see it, some don’t.
I think we can all agree that whatever Summer’s heritage – and I have a personal nationalistic interest in the reported Scottish aspect of her ancestry – the final package is very beautiful.

  22. Gorko says:

You did a good job of clearing things up Hettie-and I quite agree with your last words.

  23. Ryan says:

She doesn’t look Asian without makeup.

  24. Safa says:

You are right , jason bourne
    The summer is unique!

  25. One_Angry_V says:

Hettie, thanks a lot for your comment, it was very nice, I totally agree with your final paragraph! It’s just that the interviewer sounded so sure, like she actually new this, sounded strange… that’s all I had to say. And I think I agree with Ryan a little bit, skilful eye makeup makes her look a bit like Asian!

  26. Johnny says:

BTW, it’s interesting that Olivia is Asian-American herself and viewed Summer as “Asian.”

It seems there have been a lot of “allegations” that Summer appears Asian, but has Summer ever directly addressed it?
