(refer to previous post for explanation)

Here are the image compressed DOC files and the sendspace link to the original (uncompressed) DOC files. The sendspace archive is 1.22MB and also includes the PDF files.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/6qmbrr
Note the password to extract the sendspace archive is Summer-Glau.net

If you do download this one, please let me know if the link is dead or there is a problem with the archive so I can re-upload it. Just post a reply on this thread/topic so everyone knows when there's a problem. Thanks.

Template looks really great. :) I uploaded to the server just in case.

The link is here: Guide Template [Zip|1.2Mbyte]

I'm quite busy right now but will definetely take a closer look at the template and prepare some things.

Thanks again for the nice template. :)

I had a look at the text templates. I think I prefer the style of the first. However, I'm sort of on the fence about the pictures on the text page. I know it says they're optional, but I like how they break up the text. My only concern is with us already having a page dedicated entirely to pictures, having more pictures might be overkill. Would there be another way to break up the text? Maybe some clip art or something? I'm not much of a designer.

Thanks for uploading the templates to the server Norman :)

After reading Chief's reply I thought it might be a good idea to add a short explanation as to what I was thinking at the time of making the example templates.

The reason I added the option of including images on the text page was because initially I was thinking the image page would only have one large main image, similar to what you might find on a typical two page spread in many gardening/plant books. Thus to compensate for people who had some smaller images that they wanted to add, I also included the possible image spaces on the text page. Now the reason I suggested those spaces are optional is because I thought some people may want to add images in some but not all of those spaces. This may be because they might want the extra space to fit what they wanted to write, for example for the "Why The 'Plant Name' Is Special To Me" section. Finally the reason for the possibility of adding multiple images to the image page was to compensate for people who might not have an image with a suitable resolution to insert as the large main image. That way they could add multiple smaller images at their natural resolution, as opposed to one large blurry/pixelated image. These are the main points I was thinking when making the template (so much for a short explanation :P ).

So depending on how you use the image page and the image spaces in your text page, this will affect the overall look of your two page spread. Chief made a very valid observation regarding the use of images. I think there is a good chance that if you add too many images to the image page and also include images in the text page, your two page spread might look a little 'overkill' in terms of pictures.

What does everyone else think? It would be nice to get some more suggestions and comments from everyone else so we can decide what modifications we need to make.

OK, that makes sense. I didn't think of that.

Good question. :)

I guess that the printing process itself would take maybe 2-3 days. If we decide to print it in the store that we used for the cook book.

Still the question about seed packages etc. To coordinate that, takes some time.

I would suggest maybe beginning of July ? She won't receive it at her birthday anyway. So a few days after that are fine. It also depends on how many people want to participate.

For now I think that the best is that we don't include any seeds. So the goal is that everyone makes his page about general flowers or vegetables by the end of June / beginning of July.

Than we will sort them so that there is a part with flowers and one with vegetables.

@CloudyShadows Is there a template or something similar for the birthday wish ? You know that it fits with the rest of the page ?

Not sure I am totally following here but it will definitely cut down on the shipping!
I will wait and see. Glad to see something here, was beginning to worry about the timing.
