Hi all, I recently became an ardent fan of the Summer, and, of course, couldn't pass this great site and forum.
Before you start reading this message, please forgive me for mistakes, if any will be - my English is not perfect, because I am from Russia. =)
As for a present on the birthday Summer I had some idea, though it's a bit difficult workable ...
The idea is this: in addition to a present from all participants of the site, you can arrange ...surprise.
Let us know in advance where will be Summer, in which city, or to be sure that she will be home. In that city we can dial many many people who want to congratulate Summer.After that,we search beautiful song, and change in her words. After a good all rehearse, and, in the morning, quickly line up in front of her house and one of us will call the door. I think if we will have a lot, then there are those who played and guitar, drums, singers, they will be the main performers and the crowd would sing along in the right moments. Summer released and then the whole crowd to sing song. I think, it would be cool =) But after a general song, singer, or someone who knows how to beautifully speak in public, say many, many congratulations to pleasant words, the whole crowd shout how much we love her, handed it to a common gift, and everyone will be able to give a gift at a time.

I'm sorry but Its almost impossible to arrange something like this. Besides that, she has a private life and we should respect and protect it. Therefore things like this are out of question from my side.

I know people want to make something special for her birthday, but I think everyone agrees that its very important for all of us that her private life is protected.

Oh and the participation in the present is of course open to everyone. Its not from "our" site. Its from all fans that want to participate.

I added the poll to this topic. I didn't add the charity event because I know that it could cause trouble.

Hope everything is in there. If not let me know. Or if you have another great idea, than select "other stuff" write it here and i will add it later.

I'm split between the travel guide and the gardening scrapbook. I don't like the gardening guide because I think it'd limit who can participate since not everyone is into gardening. The scrapbook is easier because we can google our city's/province's/state's flower.

I am split between gardening almanac(yearbook) and traveling guide..............
I think that in, whatever we vote for, we could put a little part that says from which countries/states are her fans (we/us) that are participating in this birthday project...
Anyway, I'm sure whatever we do will be a great gift!!!

I went with gardening scrapbook, even though it is probably the hardest logistically to do.
Shipping and coordination to a central point, then assembly and final shipping. Will have to think about that.

I'm Stefan from Germany and i'm new to this forum, so first of all hello to everyone.

The personal cookbook for Summers last birthday was really a great idea. Summer loves cooking and all the fans who wants to participate with her present could send their favorite recipes.

Thats why i prefer the gardening scrapbook. Like the recipes last year, you can choose a special plant or flower, which has a special meaning to you or your country. Then collect everything what is interesting about it, pictures, informations where it is from, what is the best time to plant it and how to take care about the plant. Then send in a little package with the seeds, so Summer can plant it in her own garden. This part is a little tricky, because where can we select them, and how much seeds package do we need. Hundreds of them does not make sense, it would go beyond such a book.

The book could be like a calendar, beginning (what a surprise) with what could be plant in january, and so on. And, to be a bit humoristic, we could add some important holidays, like when was the original air date for the first episode of Firefly or when was the day Summer started to shot for the first episode of TSCC.

Whatever it will be, i'm sure Summer will feel our love and support and she will loke our present.

I think one pack per person should be sufficient. She doesn't have to plan them all in one year (or at all). She can plant a few every year.
