My Introduction

Well I’ve been peeking around on this site for some time and decided to finally say hello.

My name is Chris and currently reside near Baltimore, Maryland. Admittedly I’ve only been a fan of Summer for few months now. I watched T:SCC and enjoyed Summer's performance that I decided to check out Firefly/Serinity finally (even though people had been telling me to for years, I know, shame on me) well I was of course completely blown away by Summer and I also became an avid Firefly fan, as you can probably tell by my username.

I spent 8 years in the US Navy and during that time lived in Japan for three years, Spain for a year and a half, Greece for 6 months and England for about two and half years. While in England I met a lovely woman in the US Army and this past February I married her

As far as what I’m in to…well obviously Movies, television and Summer Glau. I also enjoy all types of music, I play a little guitar, but would by no means call myself a musician. I love video games and I’m currently pursuing a computer science degree, and I hope maybe some day I will work in the video game industry. I am also an avid comic book collector and love many different comic book titles. Also I am an MMA fanatic (Ultimate Fighting), I love the sport and have been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai for a several months now, although I mainly do it for fun and exercise, not competition. As you can see, I have many diverse interests.

Anyway, I wanted to post what my interests were, because it always fascinates me to come to sites like this and see a diverse group of people brought together due to one common interest. In this case the lovely Summer Glau

Wow, you spent eight years around the world!

Just for curiosity, what was your occupation in the Navy (if you like to reply, of course!)?

Yes, one of the greatest things about my time in the service was seeing the world. And BTW, one of my favorite vacations I took with my wife (at that time she was just my g/f) was Rome. Absolutely BEAUTIFUL city and very friendly people...although the driving there was scary :shock:

Ah yes, a friend of mine who lived their told me as such. My wife and I do dream of going back to Italy some day, however we would like to explore the more northern region.

I'm sure it's a great city.

I love traveling outside of the US and particularly Europe due to being able to see so much history still around.

don't get me wrong though, I love my country as well.

I was in the german navy a couple of years ago. I was on board the "MS Hamburg" for three years as the "Weatherman" (Meteorologist).

Well we have much in common.I love the Jiu Jitsu it`s very interesting style there are basicly no pure punches or kicks it relies more on graceful and light movements and Muay Thai is one of the most destructive arts afer the Vin Chun .But there are no good teachers in my country for them so i haven`t seen very much of them.But my interests recline more in the zui-jian art.
