Cameron is different and her perception of the world is different too. But her AI is designed to learn and understand humans so as to maximize her chances of success, as she's an infiltrator. If she can understand them, she can act (genuinely not faking) like them, without actually being one of them.

But understanding human is understanding emotions and also what is not logical about that. And this is where it begins to be very difficult for AI that are based on pure logic (well sometimes you can doubt it with Windows).
As for the number of "I don't know" answers Cameron had to give, it shows that she's starting to feel and act in response to these feelings, however not in the most logical way. She does not fully understand yet and that lets her confused.
It's a shame they did not let us see the next stages of Cameron's development.

Clear is that we would never have seen something like Cameron become emotional like we did. At least thats what I think since Josh Friedman always wanted to show us how it is to be a machine and that we can understand her. Thats what I really like and I don't want to see a machine that becomes a human, I want to see the world with "her" eyes.

I know too that Cameron is not human but it’s easy to forget that she may not have similar feelings like we have. Like Cameron said to John “I am a machine, I can’t be happy. But I understand more than you think.”

So, like what other life forms?

You know, the man is the only species who is totally arrogant, thinks he is the smartest and most intelligent lifeform on this planet. And everything he doesn't understand is wrong. So pick just another one. The point is to accept and understand that our way of seeing things doesn't have to be the only one. At least thats what I think would be the message of that series.

I agree, but I think that mankind isn't the only species in the Universe who's totally arrogant. I think there are probably others w/ the same "small thought" about that.

About what I said in the other topic...about Cameron being human....
Ok, not exactly human, but I think she's more than just an advanced AI.

Following the thought that our bodies are biological machines*, I don't disagree with the possibility of life forms that, in our view, would seem like machines, but they're not.

Universe is huge and compared to its size, we know NOTHING about it.
Following this thought...yes...I'd consider Cameron as some kind of living being. Not like us, but still...

This kind of subject is complex, but very interesting. :)

*[feelings, emotions, etc...in a "body level", are electrical impulses, enzyme production, etc. The way they present themselves physically. Chemical reactions, you know...]

Its not about that she is a machine its about that she is another life form. Which cannot compared with us. Ok, maybe the human body is sort of a machine, but thats not the important part.
Its about how other lifeforms , here Cameron, a machine, sees and understands the world around her, which is different from our view. I think its not about how something works.
Animals , or at least some of them , have a "system" that works similar to ours and I think that their view and understanding is totally different from ours. So its not about the physical things, more like the spiritual, if you want to call it that way.
I think that the "machines" or Cameron are somehow more open minded than we are. I know it sounds strange, but she said that she can understand more than we think. I think that she can understand our way of seeing things even though she has her own. And thats something that a lot of humans don't have. They only can see though their eyes and cannot understand life from a different perspective, like Cameron does.

You are absolutely right. She is more than just an advanced AI, she is a lifeform.
