What does annoy me it that nobody has any patience with tv shows, viewers and tv execs. You have to let a story grow naturally, not force everything. All it takes is a couple of slow or not so good episodes and everybody says it will/should be cancelled. I was reading that just two episodes into Dollhouse and a lot of people are saying it won't be back for a second season. How can you make that decision just on two episodes? Stories and characters need to grow, you even need a few episodes to get used to a specific actor in a certain role. For example, after years of watching Angel, it took a while to get used to David Boreanaz as Booth in Bones.

It's true that reality tv and viewer voting has taken a massive share of the audience away from scripted shows but most of them are full of crap. The only reality show that I do watch is Strictly Come Dancing, I couldn't care less about the rest.

Exactly....If the future of Star Trek: The Next Generation had been based on the first couple episodes, it might not have made it to a second season. It took a giant leap in quality after the first season.
