Summer and the positive effects of her presence...

You know I saw a thread on the TSCC wiki that talked about negative effects from Summer's presence in the show. In my opinion, that is an insane premise. First off, the cancellation was due to the ratings, not some conspiracy by Fox to get Summer's fanbase to watch "a cheaper to produce show" (as in the The Dollhouse). People seem to have too much time on their hands to think up such nonsense...

Summer Glau is not capable of producing a negative effect on any show that she is a part of. If anything she will always positively contribute to the chemistry of the cast, and by her own excellence in her acting skills will lift other maybe not so strong cast members up.

Secondly, with her wonderful demeanor and personality, her presence has positive effects even off screen. I have seen that over and over again in her fanbase from folks that I have become personally aware of. She is not capable of producing a negative effect at all on anything... she is a postive influence in EVERY way.

Thoughts everyone? I can't see any negatives to Summer's presence ever. I don't think that is my bias talking either. If you think I am worng, tell me.

Yeah, I saw that thread a while back. I didn't go in there though, that thread has 'Summer-bashing' written all over it.

Summer DID NOT give any negative effects to ANY SHOW/FILM she starred in. She is the reason why I got hooked on TSCC so much.

Anyway, I'm 666% agree with you. I can't really add anything to what you said, you took it right out of my mouth.

Eh Eh. I've also read that thread some days ago. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that even the original intention was totally non sense (probably the author wanted to create some Summer's bashing thread), the topic rises some interesting question about the characters development of the show.
Unfortunately (as someone has wrote on that topic and in others) there are people thinking that Summer=Cameron and Lena=Sarah. They are not able to tell the difference between reality and fiction.

You're right. Even now it's something really strange to understand for me but just only looking to her warm and relaxing smile help me to feel better (I cannot even imagine how could be staying near her for a fan or even working with her for an actor!). :shock:

So: Negative effects have been (maybe) a focus on her rather than the series.

But as we here are fans of her, we can not call that something negative....

After, I want to be honest, I did not read the dedicated thread: Summer's bashing is not one of my favorite hobby. :mrgreen:

Ah Ah!

Well, taking it more seriously I think that simply Cameron character was better developed of Sarah's one. I think that both Summer and Lena are great actress but unfortunately for Lena, her Sarah was stuck in her parameters. She has to force herself to always made the same expression.

Well I read the entire thread and the bashing comments wasn't that much. Ok, some were really nasty :cry:

but the overall of the thread was quite sober.

If there's any negative effect (which is NONE), it's simply multiplied by -1 and become positive :mrgreen:

She is the positiveness in person and her influence in this way is overwhelming!

of course we all adore Summer here but even aside from that i have to agree with ya Scott taking a step back i really couldn't see a negative aspect, i know we know very little of her personality, but from what her co-stars say she was a positive influence on them and great to work with, the show was great on many levels for me, its nobodys fault that Summer shone on the show it was meant to happen, if you have that talent and presence naturally its inevitable.

Glad to hear all of you guys agreeing with me. I think maybe she did steal the show, but that is not a bad thing. Frankly I think the ratings dipped when they stopped giving Summer the camera time she had in Season 1, and that is not Summer's fault one way or the other. Just my opinion.

Neither she wanted to do this, it just happened, i thought it was kinda natural, because she has such a singular talent...i'm not telling that the rest of the cast is not, it's just...something i can't explain.
