I never thought that it could exists a laptop without LAN connection!! :o

I mean, I had an Amiga 1200 and it haven't the LAN, but I thought that a portable would have some sort of "connection" to the external world.

So if it hasn't the LAN probably it hasn't any USB is it? :?

Btw, for the missing parallel on the new computer, I know that exists for few euros some USB->parallel adapter, maybe you should try to check if it's suitable for your situation.

I'm trying to help, not to insist. :)

I was nearly to suggest to put the portable drive in an external USB box but I'll let it drop.

A few year old computer:

Windows 7 x64
Intel Q6600 @ 3GHz
8 GiB DDR2 RAM
Geforce 8800GTS 640 MiB (first version) + 8400 GS.
A lot of hard drives... Let me think. One 74 GB WD raptor, then the rest is 7200rpm SATA with 750, 500, 500, 500, 300 and 160 GB.
Antec P160 chassis (used it previous computer too, a good chassis from way back but still modern features).
3 19" LCD screens (2 widescreen that I got cheap and one good old 5:4 Samsung LCD as center, looking to replace it with some 26" wide soon).

hehe no.

Bad news if nobody cares ;)
I came home late today from work and was exhausted. Turns the computer on and then... wtf green lines all over the screen. Restarts it and the same thing at the boot screen. Connects another monitor at the primary DVI port at the card (the 8800)... same thing. Remove the card and puts it back again - didn't help. Took it out again and only kept the 8400 card :( But can't use multiscreen now :( (I only use DVI-D to the screens and the 8400 only has one such connector). Gaaah so annoying, I will have to take a look at it in the weekend and possible buy a used card (I'm not going to do any major upgrade anytime soon so would be a waste to get a to expensive new card right now).

Will go to sleep while listening to "Summer Glau, makes me feel fine" or something.

OCZ 2x2GB PC3-10666 Dual Channel Memory
PNY XLR8 GeForce 9800GT 1024MB GDDR3 PCI-E 2.0
OCZ Vertex 30GB SATA Solid State Drive
120GB 2.5" SATA leftover from upgrade of notebook.
500GB 3.5" SATA Moved from previous system
1.5TB 3.5" SATA Moved from previous system
Lite-on IHAS22406 CD/DVD Burner
Ultra 40366 Internal USB Floppy/Flash card reader (I know....who uses a floppy these days?)
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

This is the best setup I have ever had. The one game that I play, EvE Online, runs with all settings on high and zero lag.

The floppy drive originally required a normal floppy cable, but I managed to find online for $5.00, a usb version of the drive that was able to act as a direct replacement. I have no idea why they don't simply sell them this way.
