And even if they didn't have a second atm they should have had POS terminal for direct cash withdraws at the reception. It's really stupid to leave your guests without access to their money. In the end you lose from that couse they stop spending cash...

Maybe you should also complain about the vendors not accepting debit/credit....would've cut down on the need for a ATM.

That is true as well, but it would be harder for Sean to have POS terminals than for a hotel of such caliber as Hilton so I missed that. But yeah, that would have saved me tons of money and walks to the NEC.

Anyway, back on topic.... :)

I'm getting real antsy... there are still 6.5months until Serenity/Firefly and no guests have been confirmed, even though the entire cast and some guest stars have all been invited. They sold out last year and I don't know if I should go ahead and get the ticket now or wait. Plus, It works that same as Starfury and Fedcon; seats are assigned in order of purchase. If friends want to sit together, the tickets have to be purchased at the same time.

If fuel prices don't start coming back down, it looks as though I might be flying. I can get a good deal on a flight with 3 nights in the hotel. Of course, the later I wait, the higher the price. :?

well i love hilton since they gave me a free upgrade to executive lounge and thats were i got to meet Summer.
Well thats obviously beyond any doubt the best thing that anyone could have wished for at Starfury. I was just wondering why on earth they upgraded you for free? Did something go wrong with your booking or something?

Anyway to get back on topic here I'm thinking about other Con's to go to but don't really know for sure. Even though its a long flight from Europe I don't mind visiting California again. It's been 10 years since I first went there and I really enjoyed my stay. As for con's my first thought is I'm only interested if Summer will be there but who knows when they announce that. I could just book already and see if she'll be there or not or if the other guests can get my attention. But then I want the options to cancel or transfer my ticket but the con site clearly states "NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-EXCHANGEABLE". That's pretty hard. I mean I thought Fedcon was a bunch of extortionists but they at least let you transfer your ticket for a small fee. And what if you break your leg of something?

So anyone been to previous editions of this con? It appears to be a double one with bsg. I mean how many people attend these on average, few hundred, thousand, few thousand? I guess with Bsg there it could be lots! I was thinking if I go to another con I prefer it to be smaller like in the hundreds as Starfury was.

I'm guessing that it will be a big convention, more like Fedcon than Starfury. They always do things bigger in the states.

Coming from Europe it is a big risk, there is the cost of the ticket, flights and accommodation to consider and if she is announced and has to pull out for whatever reason then that is a huge price to pay when you are only going just to see Summer. I had the same worry about Starfury T1 but at least it was in my own country and only required a couple of hours traveling. The Starfury tickets were also non-refundable and non-transferable. Being in California I'm hoping that the likelihood of her canceling is minimal as it's probably not too difficult for her to attend unless she has an acting job that comes up.

The question you have to ask yourself is are you prepared to take the financial gamble just to see Summer? I am asking that very question myself and if she is announced, will probably buy a ticket but I really don't know.

We have T2 next year and Thomas Dekker has been confirmed due to missing T1, however I am doubtful that Summer will attend. She doesn't come to the UK often and the last Starfury event before T1 she couldn't make it.

I don't know how many attended last year, but it was sold out. This one is in a larger hotel and should be bigger, but I doubt it's going to be on the scale of Fedcon.
