Hi everyone!

Good news for Summer Glau fans who are Android users! We are about to start development of an Android application, based on summer-glau.net website.

While we are at the very beginning of the process, we would like to hear any ideas concerning what you would like to see in the application. Anything is appreciated at this stage: starting from what kind of content/service you would like to get in the app, ending by which visual effects or user experience features, you think, may be appropriate to make the application useful, intuitive, user-friendly and looking great in general. Great enough for us not to be ashamed, if Summer sees it by a chance. Though I understand that she is rather an iPhone user, but who knows... Maximum expectation is that the application should be so cool that Summer after having seen it, would immediately convert to an Android user.... Just joking. No holy wars here!

Also we may consider supporting Android tablets as well, to bring even better experience while browsing photo/video gallery or other large-screen features.

Please, post your ideas and suggestions in this thread.

Thank you all in advance!

Interesting. Could it be associated with your login so that it could highlight any new posts
on the Board or PMs? Something like the main page that could show updates without having to dive all the way in?

Yeah, that is fairly possible and is a nice idea. Thanks! We'll keep collecting the ideas for some time as well as designing some features internally and then will prioritize them to schedule implementation.

Dear Summer fans!

On this glorious day I would like to announce that you are now able to participate in Summer Glau Android application prototype testing.

You can find it at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=coryffaeus.android.summerglau or just search Summer Glau at Google Play.
It is still a prototype, version 0.1 and it's rather a proof of design concept. I plan to add the following features by the end of this week to make it 0.2:
- news list pagination
- news list items animation upon image download
- news details native screen instead of current opening in browser

Plans for 1.0 release (in one or two weeks):
- better support of different screen resolutions
- main menu screen
- biography download
- splash screen collection plugin

So, please, install and let me know your thoughts about the design and style of the application.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to reading your feedback!

Downloaded it as well and it looks really nice. :)

If somebody finds a bug or something that he wants to have different or anything else about the app do it here. So it can be tracked and fixed.

Thanks Norman! Hopefully it will become even better than that.

A late note. Nearly 24 hours ago I've published version 0.2.1, which contains the announced features and user error messages. I plan to publish next update late next week.

So still waiting feedback in this thread from even more fans!

I did not notice, is this set to update or do I need to reload?

You should have received an "update available" notification from Google Play just like for any other application you may have downloaded so far. If there's no notification, try opening Google Play application manually. It should force the check for updates. If it doesn't help either then try to go to the Summer Glau Net application page in Google Play just as you did when downloading it for the first time. Then you should definitely see the update. And yes, if you have not yet configured automatic updates you will need to press download/install buttons as usual.
Let me know if you still cannot get the 0.2.1 version. Don't hesitate to PM me should you require more support.

FYI.
I've found two bugs:
1. sometimes the application crashes when scrolling/paging down
2. sometimes paging down works strangely, skipping several pages

I'll try fixing those before the next release.

Also there's a little bug when opening news details: for some time an irrelevant piece of text may be visible before the article gets in place. I'll fix that.

A general note about crash reporting. Rather than posting a crash report here just submit it directly when Android system suggests to do so. This way I will get much more complete information stack. Also in the report comment section a few words about how you got the crash would help significantly.
