Either Norman or Cristelle deleted my reference to a "torrent" source for the TV series "Dexter". :( Torrent sources are not allowed, but YouTube and other media sources (Hulu) which shows TV series are? :?

:arrow: Clarification is needed as even whole episodes of TSCC and Dollhouse are on YouTube, Hulu and other media sites which anyone can view and download with proper software.

The only reference to source attachments in the FAQ is this:
Quote:
ยป What attachments are allowed on this board?
Each board administrator can allow or disallow certain attachment types. If you are unsure what is allowed to be uploaded, contact the board administrator for assistance.

:!: So it would seem it is up to ADMIN discretion what "sources" are allowed or not... :?: IMO not all "torrents" are illegal, nor contain link(s) to (il)legal intellectual property. ;)

:idea: Perhaps the FAQ should be amended to state that "No torrent source" should be viewable by the public. Torrent source(s) should be sent to a member via PM (private message) only. :)

Of course torrent in general is not illegal, but you posted links to whole tv shows. I haven't seen anyone who posted a whole tscc episode via youtube for example. Small music videos are a Grey zone. Its ok as long as youtube doesn't delete it.

In the case of Hulu, I haven't seen anyone who posted a hulu link. I don't know for sure but I think that on Hulu you can see only shows for your country.

If anyone posts a whole show via youtube, the link will be deleted.

Its not about the torrent link itself, its about the content and in your case it was an illegal content. It doesn't matter if you can download or view it on other sides. Its about what you post here on this forum.

A link is not an attachment.

@Norman:
Ah, ok understood. :) Well you can see/download TV episodes from YouTube, but they are in pieces, so how that makes it legal I do not know.
P.S. Should have read this here first before reading the PM from you. Please disregard my PM to you Norman, you've explained the reason for the deletion quite clearly, here. :)

Even in pieces, it's illegal. But, you're not going to see the studios trying to take down every single video that contains those little pieces. That would be a full-time job requiring many people. They'd never keep up.
